NIVEA Body Care {Review}
Cellulite and stretch marks affect people of almost every age and weight. While you can minimize their appearance, you can never get rid of them for good. They also get worse with age and hormones play a huge role. As women age, their bodies produce less estrogen – a hormone that helps keep blood vessels flowing smoothly.
Before I get to chatting about the products featured in today’s post I want to share with you some information on ways to minimize the appearance of cellulite. Following these tips can help reduce the appearance of cellulite significantly.
Cellulite occurs when connective fibres underneath the skin become weak or lose their elasticity, but strengthening those areas (in addition to burning away excess fat overall) can help. “Firming and toning those muscles will, in turn, tighten the skin, giving the illusion that cellulite is less noticeable.”
Your diet alone can’t determine whether you will or will not get cellulite, but eating a well-balanced, plant-heavy diet can reduce inflammation throughout your body and help you maintain a healthy weight. Staying hydrated—both by drinking water and by eating plenty of foods with high water content—will also keep your connective tissue strong and supple, and may even help you slim down.
Q10 is a natural component of your skin which actively works to keep it firm, however levels of Q10 decrease with age and the skin becomes less able to renew itself. The NIVEA Q10 + Vitamin C Firming Body Lotion enriches the natural levels of Q10 empowering your skin with the energy and strength it needs to remain toned and supple. Visibly firmer and tighter skin in 2 weeks for normal skin. Skin compatibility dermatologically approved.
My experience
I love this skin moisturiser and use it daily as an all over body moisturizer but try and focus most of it on the thigh and butt area. The consistency feels lightweight and for this reason, dries really quickly. When it comes to fragrance I would say it smells fresh and not overly offensive. I’ve seen a visible reduction in my cellulite after about 3 weeks of using this every day. My skin looks noticeably firmer and more supple. I also exfoliate my body once a week. When I apply the moisturizer I take my time and massage those “difficult” areas.
NIVEA Q10 Plus Firming + Even Body Oil
Description
The NIVEA Q10 Plus Firming + Even Body Oil has firming power and intense nourishment, it can also be used to treat imperfections such as stretch marks to make them less visible. Skin compatibility dermatologically approved.
My experience
When I think of body oil, thick and greasy often comes to mind but Nivea Q10 Firming Body Oil has a lightweight thinner consistency. This oil goes on effortlessly, spreads well and absorbing quickly. The scent is also really subdued which I prefer in an oil.
I’ve noticed a slight improvement in the appearance of my stretch marks and other scars after using the oil for 3 weeks. It’s important to keep in mind that there’s no miracle product that will produce a dramatic change in your stretch marks over a short period. Minimizing the look of stretch marks means using the oil on a consistent basis.
Though there’s only a very slight change, this oil has helped with the overall appearance of my stretch marks and scars.

Final thoughts
Consistency is the name of the game and I’m so glad I’ve put these products through the test because they really do work. I also just have to mention that I do a lot of strength training and drink at least 3L of water a day. Incorporating these “lifestyle changes” as well as introducing these products have really helped.
I’ve been using 2 of the products consistently for the past 6 weeks and my skin feels firmer, my cellulite, stretch marks and other scars look less prominent and my skin just looks healthier. I’ll continue using these products because I know I’ll see even better results in the long run.
You can find these at any Clicks and Dischem stores and I would suggest waiting for their 3 for 2 promotions.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and if they’ve worked for you?
XoXo

Definitely going to try the Nivea oil once I’m done with my bottle of bio oil.
I’ll save the gel for summer – it’s too cold to wait to put your clothes on haha
