Full Face Using Mostly Wet n Wild Products

I’m sure you’ve all heard about the Wet n Wild makeup brand. If you haven’t, then where have you been? I discovered this brand a few years ago while searching for good quality drugstore brands. Wet n Wild was one of the brands that came out tops.

The very first few items I purchased were their Catsuit liquid lipsticks. I’m sure you guys know by now that I go bonkers over lip products. I shared my Catsuit liquid lipstick collection, my thoughts on them as well as lip swatches OVER HERE.

I’ve reviewed two of their eyeshadow palettes that being the “Not a basic peach” and “Rose in the air” as well as their photofocus matte setting spray. Be sure to click on these for a detailed review.

I’ve added a few more items to my collection and thought it would be great to do a full face using mostly Wet n wild products. The only products that I don’t have is an eye primer, brow pencil/pomade, eye pencil and mascara.

I’ll share the products and my thoughts in the order of how I would apply my makeup.

Eyes

For eye primer, I used the Mac cosmetics primer potion in soft ochre. I reached for the Rose in the air eyeshadow palette because it’s been my favourite color icon palette from the ones I’ve tried. I used three matte shades and 1 shimmer shade. The mattes perform really well, as I’ve mentioned before and I used a wet brush to get the shimmer shade to a foil-like finish.

I then used the Proline felt tip liquid eyeliner for a thin line right above the lash line to have my lashes appear thicker. This liner works ok, it’s not as pigmented but applies easily with zero feathering and dried down matte. I haven’t seen any smudging but it does fade throughout the day.

I used the Mac eyeliner in coffee, I have lash extensions and used my butter London double-decker mascara for my bottom lashes

Face

For face primer, I used the Coverall primer. This primer claims to be a

Magic Potion!

  • Refines Pores
  • Fills Fine Lines
  • Brightens Complexion
  • Evens Skin Tone
  • Made with white sapphire!
  • Provides a perfect surface for ultra-vibrant colour that lasts all day
  • Prevents Caking, Creasing, and Smudging”

It’s white in colour and has a very light gel-like consistency and applies smoothly. It settles pretty quickly and leaves the akin skin feeling hydrated and plump. It feels silky on the skin, fills in the pores, helps makeup go on easier, and adds a little longevity to the wear of foundation.

Foundation

I used the Photofocus foundation in golden beige. This is my 3rd bottles and that goes to show how much I enjoy this foundation. This is a liquid foundation that isn’t overly runny. It claims to be a matte foundation but I feel that the light diffusing aspect of it definitely gives it a bit of radiance which allows it to settle to a beautiful satin finish. I’d say it gives medium coverage but is buildable. The foundation applies easily and settles beautifully. I don’t experience any creasing or cracking. I do however always set my foundations to prevent it from moving and I did exactly that with this foundation. I have an oily t-zone and usually have oils peaking through after the 5-hour mark but I feel I can easily get around 8 hours of wear before needing to blot my oils.

Concealer

I’m not big on concealers because I don’t think I need it. I just use it to brighten up the under eyes and this Photofocus concealer in light medium beige works perfectly. It’s light weight and just enough pigmentation to give a natural finish.

Setting Powder

To set my foundation I used the Photofocus press powder in golden tan. This is my 2nd one and I have to say that it’s one of my favourite pressed powders ever. It’s comparable to the mac mineralise powder but at a fraction of the price. It also contains their light diffusing pigment which I think is the reason why it gives the skin a beautiful radiant veil. It definitely adds to the wear of the foundation and best part is that there is no flashback.

Contour

I used the MegaGlo Contouring Palette in Dulce de leche. I have to mention that the packaging isn’t my favourite. I haven’t dropped it but the compact broke and it also looks ancient from all the scratches and yet I have it packed away securely. The compact is divided into two pans with one matte highlighting powder and one cool-toned contour. The highlighting powder works well for setting and brightening the under eyes. The contour powder is my favourite. It’s really pigmented so a little goes a long way. The blendability is what blew me away. You don’t have to freak out if you’ve gone in with a heavy hand because you can fix it pretty easily.

Bronzer

For bronzer, I used the Color Icon Bronzer in ticket to Brasil. This bronzer adds such a beautiful warm glow to the skin. It’s pigmented, has a tiny bit of shimmer to it and builds and blends really well. I love that the shimmer is so subtle that it gives that healthy bronze glow look.

Blush

For blush, I used the Color Icon Blush in Mellow Wine. This is such a gorgeous medium peach-toned blush. These are the kinda shades I gravitate to the most. It’s pretty pigmented so you need to go in with a light hand. Another product that just blends so well.

Highlighter

For highlighter, I used the MegaGlow highlighter in Golden Flower Crown. The formula of these highlighters is just outstanding. These highlighters definitely out-perform a lot of the highlighters in my personal collection. They’re pigmented, soft to the touch, apply beautifully and doesn’t emphasise texture.

Brows

For my brows, I used an ELF pomade. I always set my browns and for this step, I use the Wet n Wild UltimateBrow Mascara. I initially wasn’t too fond of it because I found the wand a little too big. After giving it a fair chance, I can safely say that it’s one of my favourites. It has a perfect consistency, not too wet or too dry. Just enough pigment to give the brows a fuller look and sets them in place.

Lips

Now for my favourite step, the lips. I used the Megalast catsuit liquid matte lipstick in give me mocha. Once again, if you’re keen on reading a details review on these lippies then please click HERE. These are hands down my favourite drugstore liquid lipsticks. They glide on smoothly, settle to a comfortable matte and are super long-wearing.

Setting Spray

I usually use a fixing spray just to emulsify the powders to give a seamless look. For this step, I use the Photofocus Natural finish setting spray. When I know I’m gonna be out of the house for longer than 8-9 hours then I set my makeup with the Photofocus Matte finish setting spray. Combining these two ensures that my makeup looks flawless and stays put throughout the day.

The look and Final Thoughts

Here we have the final look. I decided to go for the warm “every day” shades in the palette and have to say that this is one of my go-to looks. These are the steps I follow whenever I do my makeup, doesn’t matter which brand I use. I’ve been loving this brand because they produce products that would give some high ends a run for their money.

My makeup looks as good as it would if I had used high-end products and I achieved it all using one of the most affordable brands out there.

Have you tried any of these products? What have been your favourites from the brand? Any others that you would suggest I try? Let me know.
