My Jeffree Star Collection – Jeffree Star X MannyMua {Review and Swatches}

Hey Guys
Another week and we’re getting closer and closer to our wedding day. I walk down the aisle in exactly 4 months and the excitement is Real!!! The wedding plans are going smoothly so far and I have my coordinator to thank for that. She’s heaven-sent! Your girl is however still on the hunt for her dress, so wish me luck.
Today’s post is another exciting one because as most of you know, this is one of my favourite brands. I want to share the rest of my Jeffree Star collection with you guys and have decided to do a mini-series called “My Jeffree Star Collection” where I’ll have a post up each week for the next few weeks. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for that. Over here I shared with you some of the velour liquid lippies so be sure to check it out.

Jeffree Star X MannyMua

The Jeffree Star X MannyMua collaboration dropped on 8/4/2017 but I was only able to purchase it during his Black Friday sale because they had a 40% discount on some of the collections and this was one of them. This bundle includes 2 matte velour liquid lipsticks and one skin frost and retails for $50 and I only paid $30.

Packaging

The packaging is so chic. Jeffree star never disappoints with his packaging so I knew this one would be absolutely stunning. It has a striking holographic print of Jeffree’s star logo and the Uranus Ring around it that gives it that exclusive effect.  The actual case is matte black with a magnetic flip on the front and is made of high-quality cardboard.

The Formula

I was surprised by how different this highlighter felt in comparison to the other 2 I own.  The formula is definitely more powdery and feels a little coarse to the touch. When you swatch it you immediately see the chunky glitter particles and I know many people stay away from these kinds of formula because of how it accentuates texture on the skin. This highlighter won’t work well with a fan brush. I use my wet n wild tapered highlighting brush as this picks up the products the best. Just be sure to tap off any excess because the fall out is insane.

This formula is a little strange because only the chunky glitter particles are the reason for all the crazy fallout. The mini glitter particles adhere so beautifully to the skin and you end up with a stunning glossy highlight. You also only need a little to achieve that brilliant blinding highlighted look.

Below is a swatch and as you can see I’ve had to layer it in order for it to show up. It only looks this lumpy because of the layers and I obviously can’t tap off the glitter from my fingers.

Uranus is a beautiful pale gold shade and has become one of my favourite highlighters. A little tricky to apply but once you get around it, it looks dazzling.

Velour Liquid lipstick

Both Velour lippies come in his standard thick sturdy transparent plastic tube with a black cap. The outer box from the collection is black with the star and Uranus ring holographic logo printed on it.

Daddy

This is a cool toned medium brown and not something I’d usually gravitate towards but figured I’d step outside my comfort zone. The formula is liquidy, applied smoothly and all you need is one thin layer for a complete opaque lip.

I’m Shook

This has become one of those shades that just takes my breath away every time I wear it. It’s a beautiful burnt red toned coral shade and the formula is perfect. It goes on effortlessly and lasts for up to 8-10 hours through drinking and eating.

Final Thoughts

I own 2 other skin frosts and I must say that these highlighters are gigantic. There is no way I’ll ever get through this much highlighter, so definitely value for money. The holographic logo that’s printed on the top sure does give it a very limited edition feel so an absolute must-have in any makeup collectors collection.
The liquid lippies are once again a stunning formula and I definitely like the shade I’m Shook more than Daddy. Daddy is a little too cool tone and if I’m not too careful and add another layer then it looks darker and grungy on me. I don’t think these kinds of tones flatter my skintone very much but I’m keeping this one because I know there’ll be a day it’ll come in handy.
Hope you guys enjoyed this post. Did you pick up any Jeffree Star goodies during the black Friday sale last year? Do you own any of these products and if so, which of these items are your absolute favourite?
Toodles Stunners!

The highlighter is STUNNING…I’d probably not buy it, because I am scared of glitter…and texture accentuation! #OldAge things! lol.
Daddy is a bit cool toned, though maybe with a warm toned gloss over it, it could be nice in winter? Like..I’m grungy, but I’m not! lol

$30 is such a good price for this entire collection! The highlighters is so pretty but it’s weird that the formula changed. Hmm.
I’m shook looks AMAZING on you. I feel like I haven’t seen that exact same shade yet. I don’t think I’d be able to pull it off but it does look lovely on you. Xx
