Colourpop Crème Lux Lipsticks Review + Swatches
My obsession with lipsticks is next level and my love for all things Colourpop grows by the day. Colourpop is hands down one of my favourite makeup brands and they’ve earned quite the reputation for their affordable makeup range. Their products aren’t only affordable but they’re consistently launching really stunning, creative and great quality products. Some of these, especially the most recent launches are so hard to pass up.
Colourpop launched their first traditional bullet lipsticks sometime early last year and I, of course, jumped at it. Lipstick addicts will understand. I purchased a few shades but sold some as I knew they wouldn’t suit my skin tone. This is the risk one takes when you order online.
I kept 4 shades and have tested these out for the past couple of months. So let’s get into this review.
Packaging
The packaging is beautiful, especially since these lipsticks retail for only $7. The lipsticks come housed in a stunning rose gold casing with little star prints. It also feels pretty heavyweight making them feel luxurious. These stars are also embossed on the actual lipstick which really gives it a unique look. Small details like this just add to the whole experience and something I truly appreciate.
Description
LUX it up. Enriched with our LUX Blend of hydrating butters, this creamy, long-wearing lipstick glides on the lips with rich pigmentation in a comfy, lightweight formula. This super pigmented formula glides on like butter from our exclusive LUX blend of Acai, Jojoba and Pomegranate Seed butters that hydrate and keep your lips looking fresh AF. Natural antioxidants protect your lips from environmental stressors and premature aging.
Formula
The crème lipsticks are described as a creamy long-wearing lipstick and they truly live up to this description. These have amazing pigmentation and feel lightweight and smooth on the lips. They settle to a beautiful satiny matte finish. I manage to get about 6 hours of wear without any feathering or the colour wearing away poorly.
Shades
Uno mas is described as warm peachy pink. It pulls more peach on my skin tone and one of my favourites to wear during the spring and summer season.
Lay Over is described as a “medium rosy beige”. It’s a gorgeous mid-tone rosy pink beige and would go with so many colours. It’s one of my favourites to wear.
Still crazy is described as a mauvey pink. Who doesn’t love a good mauvey shade? It’s the perfect everyday Kinda lipstick shade.
Foolish is described as a deepened orange. A perfect autumn/fall shade.
Final thoughts
There are countless great drugstore brands who have amazing quality traditional lipsticks. I can think of at least 5 off the top of my head.
Colourpop, however, killed it with this formula. The quality is just outstanding. The colour range is pretty extensive and there’s a shade for everyone and for any occasion.
Here is a list of resellers who import these lipsticks if ever you’re interested in trying them out (believe me, you won’t be disappointed).
XoXo
