This past weekend was a big one for many beauty lovers in Johannesburg. There was the Beauty Revolution at the Sandton convention centre as well as the Sir John masterclass in Hyde Park. I attended the #sjmasterclasssa and was part of the “exclusives” who got the opportunity to view his collaboration with Wbeauty (Woolworths beauty brand). I’ve shared some pictures on my Instastories and excited to play with the goodies and share my thoughts with you guys.

Today’s another Monday in the month of April, so another Juvia’s Place series blog post and today I bring a daring and bold eyeshadow palette review.

I shared my thoughts on the gorgeous Nubian 2 eyeshadow palette last week. If you haven’t caught up with that one then please click HERE.

The Festival Eyeshadow Palette

The festival palette screams out autumn. The mustard yellow, red and orange shades are perfect for this time of year and the best part is that there are some beautiful playful shades that make this palette truly unique.

Packaging

The packaging is the same as all the other palettes. The cardboard is sturdy, has a great magnetic closure and all the eyeshadows have the names printed below them. The outer packaging has this beautiful warm orange and red hues with their extraordinary artistry on the front and inside. Truly breathtaking

Eyeshadows and Pigmentation

This palette has nine shades; five mattes and four shimmers/satin shades. The sizes of the pans are the same as those in the Nubian 2 (the really huge pans). The shadows like all the others I’ve tried are super pigmented, blend seamlessly and the staying power is phenomenal.

• Izafa a bright red matte
• Uli a creamy, silvery-white s.himmer
• Ofala a bright red-orange matte
• Mmanwu is a vibrant coral peach matte
• Iri Ji  a bright magenta pink matte
• Oro a gorgeous mustard yellow matte
• Keleke blackened gunmetal grey satin
• Aba a vibrant teal blue satin.
• Odogwu a peachy gold shimmer

You’ll see that my description of the finishes of Aba and Keleke is “satin” and the reason for this is that they aren’t as blinding as Uli and Odogwu. You can, however, get them to appear more foiled with a wet brush.

Izafa looks red but once blended, looks more like a pink/raspberry red, which isn’t an issue because it’s still gorgeous but I would’ve loved if it were true to colour.

Final Thoughts

This palette to me is exactly like all the other Juvia’s Place palettes that I’ve tried. So if you’re a huge fan of the brand and the quality of their shadows then you’ll love this palette.

One thing I can appreciate is the consistency with the formula of the eyeshadows. I haven’t been disappointed and so eager to review their foundation because they’re releasing a foundation and a concealer, in case you didn’t know.
