MAC Lip Products I've Been Enjoying + Giveaway

Hey guys
I know what you’re probably thinking. Lol! Not another Lipstick blog post. Don’t roll your eyes just yet because I have a few of these to share with one of you guys but you have to read the post until the end to find out how to enter. I promise it’ll be worth your while.
I’ve only posted one Mac blog post where I shared with you my pink nude MAC lipstick collection. If you’re interested in reading that post then please click here. I still plan on sharing my nudes and other colour bullet lipsticks as well as my liquid matte lipstick collection and review with you guys, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

I added a few products to my collection during the Edgars Black Friday online sale last year and even though I didn’t plan on buying any MAC products, the sale was just too hard not to take advantage of. These lipsticks normally retail for R230-R240 and their liquid lipsticks go for R300. I bought them at a 60% discount and received one liquid lipstick for free for spending over a certain amount. I walked away with two free liquid lipsticks in my cart. Score!

MAC Traditional Bullet Lipsticks

These lipsticks come in the standard traditional classic black packaging. The packaging screams out class. You just can’t go wrong with black and there seem to be some glitter particles when you look at it in different light.
I absolutely love the scent of the Mac lipsticks. That slight Vanilla batter smells extremely pleasant and I genuinely can’t get enough of them.

Japenese Maple – Cremesheen finish

Mac Japenese maple - slayuniquess
I’ve wanted this shade for the longest time, so you know I didn’t hesitate to add this to my cart. Japenese Maple is described as a “frosted light beige”. I didn’t expect the frost aspect when I swatched the lippie but it’s so subtle and just enough to add some fine pearl particles to the lipstick instead of just having it be a plain light beige. It’s a cremesheen formula so you’re guaranteed a smooth comfortable wear that applies smoothly and evenly. The lipstick has amazing colour pay off for a nude lipstick and wears well for about four hours before needing to be reapplied.

 Age/Sex/Location – Matte finish

Mac age, sex and location - slayuniqueness
This lipstick was part of the Mac X Nicki Minaj collection. There were a few other available during the sale but none of them really stood out for me. Age/Sex/Location is described as a dirty midtone nude and quite different from the other midtone nudes that I own and that’s what I like about it. This matte feels pretty comfortable on the lips, it reminds me a lot about the lipstick in the shade velvet teddy, in that its a matte but doesn’t feel drying at all.

MAC Dazzleglass Lipgloss – Baby Sparks

Mac dazzleglass in babt sparks - slayuniqueness
These glosses come in a clear hard plastic tube with a dark black cap. The wand is pretty long and the applicator is a little brush with short hairs. I’m not too fond of these types of applicators because they make application a little difficult. I feel one cant get the most precise application.
These lipglosses also smell heavenly, exactly like the traditional lipsticks.

The formula is slightly thicker and stickier than what I’m used to and what I usually go for but it isn’t uncomfortable and horribly sticky. It has just enough tackiness for longevity. The dazzleglass lipglosses contain tiny glitter particles that give just enough shine and give the lips that luscious look. The best part is that it doesn’t feel gritty at all.
I normally gravitate towards nude and light pink glosses and this gloss is the perfect baby/bubblegum pink colour with a stunning peach shimmer. The glitter particles have a slight blue/violet shift to them and I feel like this gives the lips a fuller appearance. Full lips? Yes, please!

MAC Lipglass Lipgloss

I was most excited about these because they’ve been on  my lustb list for a while. The packaging is again kept super sleek. The clear glass tube where you’re able to see the shade comes with a black cap. The doe foot applicator is pretty standard. I prefer these over the brushes as I find them easier to use.
The formula is smooth and semi-sticky for that high-gloss, glass-like finish. I love that these can be worn over a lipliner or lipstick for that gorgeous dazzling look.

N-U-D-E

This shade is described as a sheer pinky nude but I feel like there is some peachiness to it. It also has fine gold particles which I truly love in a gloss.

This is another stunning shade, described as a muted-rosey-tinted pink. Definitely my kind of shade.

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour

I received two of these for free but I already own a few and was a little worried that I was gonna get a shade I already own. So I was quite chuffed that I received the shade to matte with love.
The packaging of these is kept simple yet classy. It has the clear tube like with their glosses and the same cap of their traditional bullet lipsticks.

This shade is described as a bright raspberry. It’s a gorgeous fuschia shade that isn’t super bright and intimidating, which I’m all for. I love rocking a bright colour lipstick and this shade looks absolutely stunning on my skin tone.
Mac’s retro matte liquid lipsticks are super pigmented and long wearing. You need one thin even layer and you’re good to go. There are some inconsistencies but I’ll get into a more detailed review when I share the few I own. This specific shade is one of the good ones. Applies with ease, doesn’t accentuate fine lines or feather and isn’t as drying.

Final Thoughts

I generally really enough the MAC traditional lipsticks. I love most of their formula and finishes, I think the only one I’m not overly fond of is the lustre finishes.

I’m quite happy with my gloss purchases as well as the shades. I think it’s safe to say that I now own enough glosses. I mainly use lipsticks or liquid matte lipsticks so not big on glosses but I feel that every girl needs a few in her collection
The retro matte liquid lipstick didn’t disappoint at all. I’ve really been enjoying these lip products and thought I’d share this mini Mac black Friday haul with you guys.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these and if you would continue purchasing them?
