Colourpop Series: My Most Loved Colourpop Palette
And just like that, we’re in the last week of March. My monthly blog series has made me realise how fast time is flying by. It’s the last Monday of March and the last Colourpop series post for this round. Ps. There might be some more Colourpop posts in the near future.
I’ve reviewed the “Through my eyes” collection, the “ShaylaXColourpop” collection and “The Zodiac” collection. If you guys haven’t caught up and you’re interested to hear my thoughts on these, then I’ll have the links listed below.
Today I thought I’d share with you guys my thoughts on my most reached for Colourpop eyeshadow palette. And surprise, surprise, it’s a warm neutral everyday palette. Lol.
Double Entendre Eyeshadow palette – $16
This palette immediately caught my eye because it is the perfect mix of neutral browns with a slight warm undertone.
Description
Double Entendre is the perfect palette for everyone! Your new go-to, your ride or die, your partner in crime – this palette holds the ultimate everyday, nude neutrals. With 12 shades, ranging from cool to warm, matte to metallic, you and this palette will be inseparable.
Packaging
The shadows are packaged in their standard cardboard palette, like all other 12 pan ColourPop palettes. The palette is covered with a copper-brown (almost rose gold) metallic-like finish. I feel like the outer colour of the palette suits the colour scheme of the 12 shadows perfectly.
The shade names are unfortunately not written underneath each shade but are written on the back of the palette. There’s also no mirror included which isn’t an issue considering what it retails for.
Eyeshadows and Pigmentation
As mentioned above, the palette comes with 12 warm neutral shadows. There’s a mixture of mattes, metallics and a satin finish. I love this palette because it’s the perfect everyday palette with stunning warm wearable shades. It has three light mattes: Locked & Loaded, Nekkid, Send Noodles, two mid-tone mattes: Extra Curricular and Nip Slip, three deep mattes: Hot Bod, Hard, and Teddy Bear, three metallics: Uninhibited, Draft, and Keep it PG, and one light satin shade: Flasher.
Shades from the top left corner, moving in the right direction to the bottom right corner.
Locked & Loaded: matte pale yellow
Uninhibited: metallic deep gold
Hot Bod: matte chocolate brown with gold flecks
Flasher: satin soft ivory
Nekkid: matte pastel orange
Extra Curricular: matte burnt orange
Hard: matte deep terracotta
Draft: metallic rich rose gold
Keep it PG: metallic champagne gold
Nip Slip: matte warm saddle brown
Send Noodles: matte soft tan
Teddy Bare: matte deep chocolate brown
The matte shades are all pigmented and blend seamlessly. The one satin is beautiful and works perfectly and the metallic shades are faultless. They are creamy, apply smoothly and has amazing colour payoff.
Final Thoughts
The main criteria for me when purchasing certain palettes is that it must be decently priced, have great quality eyeshadows and the packaging must be travel-friendly. The Colourpop Double Entendre Eyeshadow Palette ticks all these boxes. The best part is that I bought it on sale at $12 instead of $16.
I can’t rave enough about the quality of the Colourpop eyeshadows. They seem to have improved it with every palette they’ve released since the very first one, that being the “Yes, please” palette and I’m totally HERE for it.
They’re such good value for money and you’ll hardly be disappointed. Or at least I’ve hardly been disappointed
