February Beauty Haul

Hey guys

I’ve needed to purchase some skincare since December last year so I made a list of items I wanted to repurchase as well as some that I really wanted to try based on some reviews from Bloggers I follow. The items mentioned below are not the only items I’ve purchased but the only ones I’ve received thus far.

When I saw that Cult Beauty had a weekend of free international shipping in January, I jumped on it. I’ve had a really great experience with Cult Beauty in the past and didn’t hesitate to make the purchase. Unfortunately, it would seem that Aramex has become a little more strict with packages that come from cult beauty. I placed three low-value orders and all three were detained. I had to submit certain documents before the packages could make any movement and it took 3 weeks for them to release one of the boxes and the other two are still in customs.

The first package that arrived was the Huda beauty faux filter foundation.

I’ve had this foundation on my lust list for the longest time and with their free shipping, I only paid R480 in total, that’s a pretty sweet deal. I’ve been testing it for the past few days and so far really impressed. I’ll have a more detail post on my thoughts on it.

Next up was an order from Shop Hush. They had a 30% off sale with free shipping. Shop Hush also stock quite a few skincare brands and have a decent selection of The ordinary and Pixi products. I’ve always wanted to try some products from Pixi so I purchased this set which includes the Glow Mud cleanser and the Glow Tonic exfoliating toner. I’ve only read great reviews on these products so I’m eager to put them to the test and will let you guys know if it has worked for me.

I then added the Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane. This is my 2nd bottle and a holy grail product. I’ve also heard so many people rave about the AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution and quite keen to see what this does for my skin.

I then saw a really great promotion that Elizabeth Arden had on Foschini’s website. They included a beautiful Sparrow Society bag filled with 7 sample/deluxe size products when you purchase two product one being a moisturiser, serum or foundation.

I purchased the visible difference replenishing hydragel complex which is an oil-free gel cream which claims to deliver an immediate cooling effect and provide continuous hydration for a full 24 hours. I’m keeping this moisturizer for winter when I add more hydrating skincare products to my skincare routine. I also purchased the green tea scent spray which is a lovely energizing citrus spray. I’m so eager to try the deluxe size products and I’ll be sure to fill you guys in on what my thoughts are on these.

I’ve repurchased this Lush Clarifying jelly mask so many times, this is probably my 5th tub and it’s a product I swear I can’t live without. This jelly mask contains papaya, orange and grapefruit juices to brighten your complexion with fruit enzymes. It removes all dead/dry skin cells leaving you with instantly more supple and brighter skin. A stunning gentle exfoliator that does exactly what it claims to do.

Lastly, I bought the Revlon Kiss Cushion lip Tint in the shade, Pretty Kiss.  I’ve seen a few influencers do lip swatches and I have three shades on my list. I figured I’d buy one to test the formula before I purchase more. This is a stunning nude that can be applied to give a sheer look or built up for a more pigmented lip. It feels like a balm and has just enough shine to give the lips a plump more fuller look.
